Seven Deadly Sins by OutFoxedTW Seven Deadly Sins by OutFoxedTW
I've gotten a curious attraction to the concept of the seven deadly sins recently, and I guess this was the inevitable result.

Im not sure I like the background, but pure black looked too simple and nothing else I concocted looked good either...

And why does Pride has Sloths respective color and Pride should be purple.

Where is Greed and what is avarice?

Avarice is the same thing as greed. This is the first time I've seen it used to replace greed in the seven deadly sins, but I guess some cultures use it

I really like it, it's awesome! I just don't understand gluttony's symbol, mind explaining it to me?

To be honest, it was really just a good, clean, iconic symbol that wasn't yet used, and fit better than the other options I had available. This old, *old* piece is really just the result of experimenting idly with the program's cutout presets, and doesn't deserve much attention. Thanks for the enthusiasm, all the same. :)

Hey I like your symbols, just wondering if you'd make one w/ the heavenly virtues.
Nice work, love the sloth one, it shows the laziness. XD

:bulletred:i would think that, didn't do something intricate because that would defeat the purpose of it being sloth :bulletred:

Yeah XD The way I think of it... Sloth is to lazy to make anything other than a circle x3

I like the shapes, though, they are very fitting ^^

I think a better symbol for envy would be a diamond upside down.

The symbolism and colors fit well with the sins assigned. I agree with the choice of colors and symbols. I myself find a strange interest in the seven deadly sins. I discovered that my main sin is Wrath. O.o Of course, though...I discovered that a while back. I myself am thinking of making a picture for them. Not sure what to use, or what to draw. I'm trying to get inspiration. :)

I don't think that lust should be a heart, because a heart normally symbolizes love, and lust is a physical attraction WITHOUT love... Although, I guess it would be hard to find a symbol for lust that isn't a heart. I think I just proved myself wrong.... Lol
Other that that, it's good. :)

the terrible thing about the sins is how america has become them. the nation pretty much thrives off of them.

I'm not saying this because I am in any way an ardent nationalist or jingoist, but I don't really think that is fair.

Every generation seems convinced that theirs, or the last one, was morally corrupt. This seems consistently to be the result of changes in perspective, never fact.

I would say that in some ways we have allowed a free market to push back the boundaries of our restraint, but I would not say that we are a 'nation of sinners.'

Only time will tell, but I don't think that we are that far gone, especially considering the relative excesses of some European nations. We're a big nation of human beings. If we focus on and magnify the bad, we paint a bleaker picture than is reality.

Okay, I'm done now...^^;

very Nice, though gluttony is orange and greed is yellow...not the other way around. Unless you liked the way those colors looked better. ^^

Oh, and lust is blue and pride is purple.

I like the backround, I agree with you about the black being to plain.

I had to get acquainted with the Sins myself, in order to create symbolism in one of my storyboards, or at least Tay-Tay did.

I, too, believe Sins are interesting.
My Primary Sin: Envy
My Secondary Sin: Pride
My Tertiary Sin: Sloth

That depends on who you ask.

Diamonds have little value (to the average person anyway) other than a sign of status. I decided that it would be one of the most simple and most fitting symbol for Envy because it represents a battle for the appearance of social dominance rather than real power.

I've already had someone else make the same comment, and, even though it does make sense to think that, I still feel that the gem -can- represent envy as well as greed.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to comment.

Now that you explain it does make sense! And i always envisioned envy as a social climber. . . all ways trying to be friends with the "popular" group!

Furthermore, when I made this, I was using an outdated Microsoft program and I didn't have much flexibility with cutouts (essentially like really gay brushes) and this was not an important enough project to me to make my own.

I've already had someone else make the same comment, and, even though it does make sense to think that, I still feel that the gem -can- represent envy as well as greed.

It's just some cut-out presets from a Pre-Photoshop POS program though...
More the interesting result of the combination of a temporary fascination and boredom than anything else..

Excellent sybolism and presentation. I have but one problem: Traditionally Gluttony is orange, and Greed/Avarice is yellow/gold, is there a reason you have switched them...or.....???

Hmm...this was so long ago I can't really remember too well...

I vaguely remember looking up the traditional color scheme sometime before I made this, but I think that I chose them independently for this actual piece...I'm surprised I got so close if I did just decide myself. XD

I really don't know why people keep faving and commenting on this, it's just a few cutouts on a pre-photoshop POS program..^^;
